There are few things more comforting to an isolated church member than to be able to connect to their worship services when he or she cannot attend in person. There is something very special about the peace, security and spiritual feeling of re-connecting back into their church while it is occurring. Many pillars and long time members, as well as newly found believers, want a physical connection, a real time presence and to be a productive part of a local church service or their former class. As our population grows older and less mobile, we must find new ways to outreach to them.
We believe we have done just that when we created an economical and simply applied solution allowing any church the ability to reach out to this less mobile congregation. Move over radio there is a new two fold ministry tool giving Home-Bounds a new live connection, participation and sense of true belonging. With what many feel is just as important, this can be a tool allowing lay ministry very accessible stepping stone into future lay participation. Involving lay participation can bring the discipleship and residual joy by helping their Home-Bounds connect in a new way.
We are not replacing the important personal touch seen in dropping off a cassette, our aim is to enhance the personal touch and entice more visitations during these live connections. Because we are creatures of habit "Visit and Listen Ministries" on Sunday morning can be very special times for all parties involved. Those Home-Bound parents, caregivers or grand parents can now listen with a friend while you are with your children at church. This is a new ability in keeping them in the circle of the church and in giving back to those who may have supported your church for years.
As an extra benefit, with these services comes the ability to connect special programs and events. Now a cantata or wedding can be enjoyed by all. Also, missionaries can update congregations and Home-Bounds with live connections from the field and youth groups can listen and update the church while away at camp. Remote-bounds, your friends across country who are unable to attend events can connect to a revival. The ministry opportunities using these services are becoming more and more creative !
